WARM UP
DEMO 01
Hi, I'm Ken from Clearwater Systems. May I come in? How are you today? I'd like-set up in the kitchen, if I may. That's really the best place to start. It's a great place to get water samples and see how your water quality is affecting your fixtures and your appliances. Let's go on in there. Thank you.
DEMO 02
When you booked your appointment, our customer care associate should have shared what we will be doing. I would like to start by reviewing these points. First, I want to get a good understanding of what is going on with your water by discussing what you have noticed recently. Next, we'll go to where the water comes into the house and do a plumbing audit. I'll check your plumbing type, water pressure, what the drains look like, your pressure tank, your hot water tank, and other plumbing-related details. After that, we will return to the kitchen and test your water. Based on these activities, we should have a good understanding of what is going on with your water. If there are any recommendations for improving your water and protecting your home and your family's health, we can review them at that point. Does this sound like what you were expecting?
DEMO 03
Let's chat about you and your water. I don't want to miss anything. Is it okay if I take notes while we talk? How long have you lived here? How long have you been in the area? How long do you expect to live here? Have you ever had your water tested before? Do you have a water treatment system? What do you like about it? How many people use the water here? Do you drink the water? So, what's going on with your water? Has it always been this way, or is this something that is new? Are there any funny odors or tastes? Are there any issues you're seeing with your appliances or fixtures that might be impacted by your water? I appreciate what you've shared. I just want you to know the most important part of my job is to educate you about your water and answer your questions. So are there any questions I haven't asked about your water that you would like to share? Okay, before we head to the water main, let's take a peek at your dishwasher. This appliance shows issues associated with your hot water. In a way, it's like looking inside your hot water tank. Sometimes you can hear and see the scale buildup in the jets. This is the impact of hardness. Very often we find it's the untreated water that wears out a dishwasher. It looks like we have something going on with your hot water, actually. Before we head to your water main, can we make one additional stop in your bathroom? The toilet tank is a great way to see what is going on inside your cold water plumbing. See this orange steam, this rust. Actually, Even though your water looks clear, it contains iron. There are two types of iron. Ferrous iron is clear to the eye. However, with time and exposure to oxygen, this iron changes to ferric or rust and causes these stains. When we get back to the kitchen, we will find out how much iron you have in your water. It takes very little to cause staining. The good thing is I do not see any bacteria iron, sulfur bacteria, or manganese in the toilet tank. While we're here, let's look at the shower to see if there are any hardness or iron buildup on your shower doors or shower head. Can you see the soap scum here on your shower doors? When hard water is heated, it binds with your soap to create this hard-to-clean film. It looks like your water quality is causing you to spend more time cleaning, and you may not have realized it was because of your water. So about how much time do you spend cleaning your bathroom? Actually, with most of this buildup, you can either use harsh cleaners to remove the scum, or you can first improve the water mechanically so that it doesn't create these issues, making cleaning much easier. What do you use to clean? How long does a bottle last you? Now, can you take me to your water main? That's where the water enters your home.
DEMO 04
Looks like you have an old pressure tank. It is rusting around this weld seam. Before we get too far along, can I take some notes and pictures of your plumbing components? It'll be easier to refer back to the pictures if there are any questions as we go forward. Here is your bypass T. This leads to your outside spigots. It is an industry standard for plumbers and home construction to put this T here because if a homeowner ever elected to add water treatment, then plumbing is set for the inside to be treated and the outside to be untreated. How long has it been since you replaced your hot water heater? Let me get a picture of the energy sticker. Did you know roughly 25% of your energy bill is used to heat your water? About how much do you spend per month on electricity? When we looked at the dishwasher, we saw the impact water was having on your hot water. Here at your hot water tank, that impact is even greater. Scale buildup can increase your energy costs by 25% or more. This is another way water impacts your costs, and you may not realize it. Would this drain be okay to use? The last thing I look for is the water line running to the refrigerator. I like to see what type of plumbing is applying your drinking water. We will test this water separately from the water coming from your kitchen faucet to determine the quality of your drinking water. Okay, let's head back to the kitchen.

How did you know to call Clear Water Systems? Just to tell you a little bit about me, I have been with Clearwater Systems for 25 years and have been in the industry for nearly 30 years. I am certified in two different areas. I am certified by the Water Quality Association as a Master Water Specialist and Certified Water Representative. Kinetico has a training program called KUDOS, through which I am also certified. Both organizations require me to do continuing education to keep my certifications current.
DEMO 06
Clearwater Systems has been serving our customers' water treatment needs since 1946. We believe our customers deserve the best service and the best product to get them the best water. What sets us apart from other water treatment providers is our extensive experience and our partnership with Kinetico as their exclusive dealer in this area, and our commitment to carrying independent certifications on both products and representatives like me.
DEMO 07
Kinetico was established in 1970 by two engineers from Ohio. Kinetico's founders, Bill Pryor and Jim Kewley, set up to redesign a water softener that was not based on what the industry was doing, but on what would be the best functional design. What they invented was the world's first non-electric, twin-tank demand-operated water softener. That design eliminated all the disadvantages associated with a common water softener. Today, 50 years later, Kinetico still stands as the world's most efficient and reliable softener, and over the years, they have applied their design approach to all water treatment equipment. Kinetico is made in the USA at their manufacturing campus in Newbury, Ohio. Kinetico products are certified by the Water Quality Association, our industry's independent manufacturer and dealer organization. Kinetico's quality and value are known around the world, where reliability is king. Even the Queen of England has a system in Buckingham Palace. Clear Water was Kinetico's first dealer, with our relationship starting in 1974.
DEMO 08
While I am setting up, do you know where your water comes from? Water in the atmosphere, in the form of clouds, picks up carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide and water mix to form carbonic acid. When water falls back to Earth, it starts to dissolve everything in its path as it makes its way to lakes, rivers, and aquifers. These natural contaminants end up in our water supply and eventually precipitate out of the water as shown in your sinks, toilet tanks, dishwasher, and shower stalls.
WATER TEST
DEMO 09
Let's test your water. The first thing we measure is pH. It is measured on a logarithmic scale from 0 to 14. Just like on the Richter scale, there is a big difference between a 5.5 and a 6.2 earthquake. Zero is acidic, And 14 is alkaline. The reality is we want our pH neutral, which is in the middle of the scale, around seven. Anything too low or too high can be corrosive. Low pH, especially below 6.7, can cause pinhole leaks in your plumbing or bluish-green staining in your bathroom or sinks. A blue-green stain is water dissolving your copper plumbing. Our pH test is colorimetric test. We take your water, add the reagent from this packet, and it will produce a colorful result. We can then measure the result on our color wheel to determine your pH value. What color would you expect to see for this test? Well, let's see. Let's start with 5 milliliters of your water. Add our reagent packet, put this sample in my comparator, and look at your pH. 7.2. Is that what you see? Let's record this number and move on to our next test.
DEMO 10
Next, we will test for iron. As shared earlier, iron can be both visible or hidden in your water. When it is visible, it looks like rust. Our colorimetric test will give us the total amount of iron. We have a separate test we will also do to see if there is any rust present. Let's start with your total iron. Five milliliters of your water. Add our reagent packet. Now for this test, it does take about 3 minutes for the reaction to complete. So we need to wait before reading the test on our comparator. While we wait, let's look to see if there is any ferric iron present. The slightest amount of iron can cause staining on showers, sinks, or anything it touches. And if this iron is in the form of rust, it is visible to the eye. So we are taking your water and putting it in this white cup to see if it is discolored at all. If it is, then we have ferric iron or rust present. If the sample is clear, there still can be hidden iron in your water, which will be shown on the total iron test. These two tests tell us what forms the iron is in, as this is important to know if we want to remove all the iron properly. I've added your water. Do you see any discoloration? Let's look at the comparator. What do you see for total iron? Let me note these results. Any questions on iron?
DEMO 11
Let's test for manganese. We fill our square glass bottle to the neck and add our reagent packet. This is a longer reaction, and it takes about three or four minutes to complete this test. I need to mix this sample for about two minutes before adding a second reagent packet. While this is mixing, do you have any questions about what we have tested so far? We are testing for manganese because it is a sister metal to iron and is typically found when high levels of iron are present. Since we found iron, I have added this test to make sure we capture everything that might be in your water. Manganese will create black or grayish stains. Time to add our second reagent packet. We will mix this for one minute, then transfer the solution to our test tube to load into our comparator. Let's see if we have any manganese present. How does this look to you?
DEMO 12
Now let's test for sulfur. The best test for sulfur is your nose. Sulfur has a very distinct rotten egg smell. Sulfur is a gas trapped in water that can come and go. While I am doing my analytical test, I would like to ask several questions to help me better understand how this might be impacting your water. Do you ever notice a rotten egg smell in your water? Where do you notice the odor the most? Any difference in the hot or cold water? When taking a shower first thing in the morning, does the odor seem strongest? Then after running the water for several minutes, does the odor go away? If you are gone all day, do you notice any odor when you first use your water? Do you notice that the odor gets worse at certain times of the year? When sulfur is in your water, you may see black in the back of your toilet tank or black staining on your copper plumbing. For our analytical test, we start with a circle of hydrogen sulfide test paper inside the bottle cap. We add 100 milliliters of your water, add our reagent tablets, cap the sample, and now we will let this set for two minutes before taking a measurement. What do you see as your sulfur level?
DEMO 13
To test chlorine, we first put our reagent packet in our test tube. Then we fill to the 5 milliliter line. Once again, we use our comparator to see how much chlorine is in the water. Our chlorine test is pretty quick. What level do you see? Chlorine is a vital part of our city's water treatment process. It is added to disinfect the water from bacteria, viruses, and other living organisms. The EPA considers safe levels to be under two parts per million and requires a minimum of 0.5 parts per million for municipal disinfection. Since chlorine breaks down in the water over time and the city wants to make sure there is some level of chlorine present through all its pipes, the closer you are to the treatment plant, the higher the level of chlorine we will find. Once your water arrives in your home, the chlorine has served its purpose, and most people look to have it removed as its odor and taste can be annoying. This next test is fun. Let's add water to this cup. Next, I will add three drops of the chlorine reagent. This is the same reagent used to test chlorine in a pool. What do you see? The yellow color means chlorine is present. Let's repeat this test. This time, run your fingers in the cup. What do you think is happening? Now let's put three drops into the cup. Where did the chlorine go? Chlorine reacts with organic material, which is the way it disinfects. By introducing your skin to the water, the chlorine reacted with your skin and is now gone. This reaction may cause dry skin and can cause other irritations. This is another reason why many like to have this disinfectant removed from their water.
DEMO 14
Our next test is for hardness, which is the total amount of calcium and magnesium in your water. Actually, limestone rock is made from calcium and magnesium, which is why we call it hardness, since it is literally dissolved rock in your water. Hardness is measured in grains per gallon. Hardness is what contributes to soft soap, scum, and scaling. When water is warm, the hardness is converted back to solid rock, which is the cause of scaling on your fixtures, in your appliances, and in your plumbing. Hardness affects your hair, skin, and clothes. First, let's start with your water. I have two chemicals that I will add to prepare the solution. The first is a buffer. The second is a dye. After adding, if the solution is red, then we have hard water. If it is blue, then it is soft. Since this is a titration test, I can add drops of our titrate until we see the color of the solution change to blue. Each drop added represents one grain of hardness per gallon. Count with me so you can see how many grains hard your water is. One, two, three. four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. As you can see, we have found 10 grains per gallon of hardness in your water. This is what affects your hair, skin, appliances, laundry, and causes staining on your shower doors and shower head. To show you what this looks like in your plumbing, we can represent this effect using this bare aspirin. By weight, this aspirin represents what five grains look like if it was not dissolved in your water. Since you have 10 grains of hardness in your water, for each gallon you use, that is two aspirin. Each day, most homes use about 75 gallons of water per person. In your home, that would be 150 gallons. Based on your 10 grains of hardness, which are represented by these two aspirin, 150 gallons per day would equal 300 aspirin per day. That's over 9,000 tablets a month, and over 100,000 per year. That's a lot of hardness, and that is why it builds up so quickly in your home. Now that I've shown you what hardness is, where it comes from, what it looks like, and how much is in your water, let me show you how we treat it.
SOFT WATER DEMO
DEMO 15
This is a mini-softener, also called a resin column, and it is made-up of thousands of tiny beads that are filled with sodium ions. As your water passes through the resin, the iron and dissolved rock attach to the beads in exchange for sodium. When the resin fills up with iron and dissolved rock, salt water is used to clean or recharge the resin with sodium, and the iron and dissolved rock are then released from the resin and washed down the drain with water. This is a lot like most softeners that are on the market, except they have a control on top. These softeners just have one resin tank and are programmed to clean themselves during a time when water should not be used, since the system cannot produce treated water while it is cleaning itself. These systems take about 90 minutes to go through the cleaning cycle, so they usually target 2 a.m. for the cleaning cycle, since you would not want this cycle happening during the day. This fixed cleaning cycle creates a limited capacity between cleanings, and since it is hard to predict exactly how much water someone will use every day, most systems will clean on days when they are not completely exhausted, just to make sure they don't run out of capacity on any given day. This makes them inefficient by design. Now that I've shown you how most softeners operate, let me show you how a Kinetico works.
DEMO 16
The first principle of a Kinetico is that it should always be able to supply soft water, even while it is cleaning itself. To do this, the engineers added a second media tank. With the second tank, the Kinetico can take advantage of using the soft water from the second tank to both supply the home with treated water and also clean the exhausted tank. When a single-tank system cleans itself, the only water available is the dirty water. It is kind of like washing your clothes with dirty water. Not a good place to start. By having a supply of treated water, the Kinetico can also use a special type of regeneration called countercurrent. This means that the cleaning solution is processed through the tank in the opposite direction of the normal process flow. This simple trick reduces the amount of salt and water needed to thoroughly clean the media, making the Kinetico the most efficient softener in the world. And they have third-party testing to validate this claim. A Kinetico will typically use about 2 pounds of salt and 40 gallons of water to clean, while a single tank system will use at least 5 pounds of salt and 100 gallons of water. Imagine the savings! The last aspect of the Kinetico that makes it truly unique, valuable, and durable is that the Kinetico team designed their softener with no electronic components. Every other softener in the market has electronics to control its regeneration. Kinetico harnesses the power of water flow to do all these functions. Dual tanks, an efficient cleaning system, and non-electric operation makes Kinetico the best value on the market. We stand behind this value with the best warranty in the market. Kinetico’s 10-year warranty speaks to its reliability. Now that I've shown you how we treat hard water, let me show you how hard water affects your clothes and skin, and how Kinetico softeners can fix these problems.
DEMO 17
Let's do a visual test of your water. Let's look at a few cubes of your eyes. If we look at the ice, it's not very clear. This frosting inside the cube is actually contaminants that have been pushed out of the water as it was freezing. We also saw this happening in your dishwasher and hot water tank, as the water is heated in them and scale is formed. I can demonstrate this in real time. First, we'll start with your water and compare it to some treated water I have. We will add a reagent that will bind with any hardness that is in the water and cause it to precipitate or scale out of the water. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. The second reagent is a dye, which will make the minerals easier to see. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. One, two, three, four. Five, six, seven. While this is reacting, let me show you a test that demonstrates how hardness affects your washing machine.
DEMO 18
These shirts were washed 10 times in soft water, while these were washed 10 times in untreated water. Quite a difference, isn't it? Let me show you why it is impossible to clean your clothes in untreated water. To show you what I'm talking about, I have three mini washers here. I have a tap water washer and two Kinetico water washers. Can I ask a favor? I need to borrow a recently cleaned face cloth or wash towel. Thank you. I'm going to fill this bottle with some softened Kinetico water. Let's give it a shake to make sure everything is clean. Now I'm going to take this cloth you gave me and soak it in the soft Kinetico water. While we're waiting on that to soak, let's look at our washer. For this test, we're going to use some pure soap, similar to what is used in hospitals and public restrooms. There are no chemicals in it to treat the water. If you smell this, it probably smells just like a hospital. Now, we're going to add two drops to each sample. One, two. One, two. One, two. You may notice right away a difference in the water. The Kinetico water is clean and clear. Your water is cloudy. The reason is, soap only has one function, which is to attack dirt. There is nothing in the Kinetico water to attack. However, that is not the case with your water. Let's go ahead and give them a quick shake. You can see with the Kinetico water, we put in two drops and it suds up right away. But, what happened with your water? What is happening is the hardness in your water is binding with the soap, making it ineffective. This is what we saw in your bathroom, on your fixtures, in the form of scale and scum. Now, in your washer, it is shown by the lack of suds. So what would you do if you didn't see any suds? This also happens when you are using shampoo, hand soap, and dish soap. In every case, you use soap to treat the hardness before the soap starts cleaning. The more hardness you have, the more soap you use. So let's use more soap. Three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. That's a 10 to 2 ratio, five times the amount of soap. We'll give it another shake and look. There are still no bubbles. Do you see how the water turned cloudy and dirty again? That's the same soap scum that creates that ring on your bathtub and builds up on your shower doors. However, there are still no suds, so let's see what it takes to make some. Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. That's 20. to two. It's ten times the amount of soap. Finally, we're even. Now you can wash your clothes, but which one would you rather wash your clothes in? Cook with, clean with, bathe with? But the most important thing is, let's pretend that these weren't drops of soap. Let's say every drop equals a dollar. How many dollars did it take to wash with Kinetico water? But how many dollars did it take to wash with tap water? Imagine if you could go from spending $20, $30, $40 on your soap and cleaning products down to just $2. How much money do you think that would save your family over your lifetime? What kind of a laundry detergent do you use? Well, let me show you what's in Tide. 90% is chemicals used to treat your water. Only 10% is actually biodegradable soap, which you do your cleaning with. That means every time you go to the store and buy $10 worth of Tide, you're spending $1 on cleaning your clothes and $9 on trying to treat your hard water. How many bottles of detergent do you use per month? Is that a small, medium, or family-sized container? When you have Kinetico water in your home, you don't need fabric softeners, spot removers, or stain removers. It would only take one cap full of pure biodegradable soap this big to do a whole load of laundry. Isn't that amazing? Now, that's only the wash cycle. What comes after the wash cycle? Let me show you what happens in the rinse cycle. If you are rinsing in untreated water, just a little bit blocks the soap's ability to clean and pulls all the detergents and dirt back into the water, and it all ends up back in your clothes. That's why it's impossible to clean your clothes in hard water. Then you throw your clothes in the dryer, and it literally bakes all those detergents into the fabrics, causing them to become stiff and brittle. The fabrics break down easier, and that's what makes your clothes wear out quicker and fade faster.
DEMO 19
To show you what I'm talking about, remember that cloth we've been soaking? We will start by wringing out your cloth and see what comes out. You see, it's not as clean as it should be, because All the dirt and detergents were pulled back down in the rinse cycle. Also, you can see those little particles of fabric and lint. That's evidence your detergent is breaking down your clothes faster than they should. But that last thing you'll notice is there's a ton of detergent still left in your clothes. If I could pull this much detergent out of your clothes, imagine how much is in the clothes you're wearing right now. Imagine what's in the bath towel that you used to dry yourself off with. When you use a towel loaded with all these detergents and chemicals, they grind into the pores of your skin. That's why some people will get a really itchy feeling after taking a shower. It's a skin reaction from all these chemicals. But with Kinetico water, your family would never have to worry about any of these problems again. Wouldn't that be great? In fact, there's enough detergent in the clothes you're wearing right now that the first time you wash them in Kinetico water, you won't need to add any soap at all. Then after that, all you need is one capful of pure soap. No fabric softeners, no brighteners, just pure soap. About how many bottles of fabric softener do you go through a month? Now that I've shown you how hard water affects your clothes, let me show you how it affects your skin.
DEMO 20
Now soap up your hands with Kinetico water. When you have a good lather, you'll want to rinse your hands. Now, rinse your right hand off in your raw, untreated tap water. Can you feel how rough, coarse, gritty, and sticky it feels? That soap's stuck in your pores. Now, rinse your left hand in Kinetico water. Can you feel how soft and smooth that feels? It's just like you have an expensive lotion or cream on your hand, isn't it? Now, pat your hands dry and keep them apart. You may have thought that your left hand still has soap on it, but smell it. Not much of a smell, is it? Now smell your right hand. Soap! You see, the smooth feeling on your left hand is your natural body oils because your pores are clean. Your right hand feels sticky because it is covered with soap scum. And this is why you have to use hand creams, lotions, and body oils. If you have Kinetico water, your whole body will feel just like your left hand does now, every time you step out of the shower, clean, smooth, and fresh. No expensive creams, lotions, or bath oils. Wouldn't that be great?
DRINKING WATER DEMO
DEMO 21
Now that we have talked about your working water, that's the water you clean everything with, let's talk about your drinking water. Remember me talking earlier about the hydrological cycle, when it rains, it dissolves all the chemicals into your water. Things like pesticides, herbicides, nitrates, pharmaceuticals, dust, and industrial chemicals. All these chemicals impact our water today. Let me ask you a question. What's more important, water that goes on you or in you? Exactly. The reason it is important to have clean drinking water is because 85% of our bodies are made-up of water, and that water is used as a natural filter for our bodies. If we have contaminants in our drinking water, our bodies must work harder to filter themselves, which can leave you feeling sluggish and fatigued. Let's test the purity of your water.
DEMO 22
TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids. Basically, that's everything in your water that is not water. The lower the concentration of TDS, the more palatable the water becomes. A TDS level of 50 or below is considered acceptable drinking water, and many bottled waters have TDS in the 10 to 20 level. The EPA has set 500 milligrams per liter TDS as a secondary standard for water quality, above which they would recommend finding an alternative source for drinking. What do you use for your drinking water? How many cases do you buy a month? The tool we use to measure TDS is a conductivity monitor. This device sends an electrical current through the water to determine the amount of dissolved solids. It can't tell us what is in the water, but it does a good job of quickly telling us how much TDS is in the water. First, let's test your tap water. That is 100 TDS. Let's also test your refrigerator source. That is 125 TDS. Do you have any other drinking water you would like me to test? Now, let's test my treated water. That is 10 TDS. So we found a 100 TDS in your water, 125 TDS from your refrigerator, and 10 TDS from our treated water. Are you surprised your refrigerator is actually adding solids to your water? Do you know when the last time the filter on your fridge was changed? Many carbon filters have a very limited capacity, and after they are exhausted, they will start to shed the material they had collected. This may be what you're experiencing with your filter today. So, between these waters, which would you prefer to drink? Why? One last test with these samples. As we mentioned, water likes to collect contaminants from anything it touches. Just sitting here in the open, anything that is in the air will actually start to contaminate the water. If we were to check the sample in a few hours, the TDS would actually go up. I am mixing the water with my fingers to speed up this reaction. Let's retest the water. What is the TDS after just one minute of contact with my fingers in the air? Now the water quality is 20 TDS. It is still much better than either your tap water or the refrigerator water, but which water would you now prefer to drink? So even though the sample has fewer contaminants in it, you would prefer to drink a different sample? Why? Is it fair to say you are more comfortable drinking the higher TDS water because you haven't thought about what might be in the water? Now, let me show you what the TDS looks like.
DEMO 23
We use some Lipton tea. Do you know what kind of tea this is? It's called Orange Pico Tea. With a name like that, what color do you think the tea should be? How would you normally describe the color of your tea? When tea comes in contact with water, in addition to dissolving, it will also bind with any dissolved solids in the water. This can impact the brewing process. In this glass, we use your water, and in this glass, we will add some Kinetico water. May I use your microwave? While the tea is steeping, let me show you how the TDS meter works. If you notice, the meter has two probes on the bottom of it. One of these probes sends out an electrical current, and the other will receive it. Most people think that water is a good conductor of electricity, but it is actually a good insulator of electricity. The conductor of the electricity is the majority of dissolved solids that are in the water. The downside to a TDS meter is that it can only count the dissolved solids that have an ionic charge. While most of the contaminants carry a charge and are measurable, there are some dissolved solids this device can't measure, including pharmaceuticals, pesticides, herbicides, and lead, just to name a few. See how the tea in our treated water is a nice orange color? But with your water, the tea has attached to the solids in your water and affected its quality. Look at the solids on top of the tea, your tea, compared to our tea made with pure water. Not only can you see the difference, you can smell and taste the difference. Smell this tea with your water. It's kind of got an earthy smell to it, doesn't it? Now smell the tea made with our Kinetico water. Smells just like you would expect, like a really good quality tea. Now, taste this tea. Wow, it's really good, right? Pure tea. Now, take a taste of this tea made with your water. No, no. It has that earthly, almost dirty taste to it. Which one would you prefer to drink? The tea made with your water or the tea made with our Kinetico Pure Water?
DEMO 24
Let me show you how you can make bottled water quality at your kitchen sink. The K5 Drinking Water Station is certified to remove more impurities, produce more water, and deliver that water faster than any other drinking water system. The product has received a Best Buy by Consumer Digest. The system uses multiple levels of filtration, the same as a bottled water plant. The base system includes a pre-filter to remove any particulates down to 1/16th the size of a human hair. Water is then cleaned through a high-flow membrane. This membrane only allows good water to get through, and contaminants are sent to the drain. Before the unit shuts out, the membrane is washed using pure water and flushes everything down the drain, leaving it in a pure state. Since 90% of the time the unit is in this shutdown mode, keeping it in a pure state, it reduces contamination of the system by eliminating TDS creep. TDS creep occurs when a membrane has raw water on one side and sits idle. High-quality treated water is stored in a wild tank. When the water is used, a patented water drive uses your water pressure to push water from the tank through a final filter that polishes the water. Bottled water quality water is delivered to your kitchen through this designer faucet. and it comes in a finish to match your kitchen. If you remember, your filter system was adding TDS to the water, likely because it is being overrun. To ensure the highest quality operation, the K5 includes both a usage indicator, the Puremometer, and a flow slow down, which signals the need for a filter replacement. The K5 is also customizable to address any specific concerns you have with your water, today or in the future. There are additional cartridges that can be added to treat your water. arsenic, pure chlorides, chloramines, VOCs, and virus and bacteria. We also have a cartridge that can be added to customize the taste of the water by increasing the mineral content of the water. Based on everything we have tested, I would recommend the K5, including the VOC flex filtration cartridge, to give you bottled water quality and the convenience of your kitchen.

I'm sure that this cost might be a bit surprising. But what you also need to consider is the money that you are currently spending that these payments will be replacing. Let's review some of the costs you already shared with me. Detergents, cleaners, lotions, energy, bottled water. Just using these categories, the monthly cost that you are already spending is $50 per month to treat your water. With treated water, these costs will all be reduced since you are treating the water in a different way. There are some additional savings in soaps, clothes, and appliance repair that we haven't added that will further reduce your current costs. Really, we are just reallocating your money. Also, you will have soft water to prevent the iron and calcium from building up in the first place. Not only are you getting soft, iron-free water, you are now getting all your drinking water at bottled water quality. So, when we take a look at the savings this equipment provides, the value of treating your water is better understood. I understand there are cheaper systems available. We should look at a more detailed comparison of some points you may not have considered. As you can see, we have your total compensated hardness and the number of people that use the water. With those two factors, we can now better compare Kinetico to a single tank electric unit, which you will find in the DIY stores and with our competitors. The four areas you should consider when comparing water treatment equipment include salt efficiency, water efficiency, electrical use, and life expectancy. Since Clearwater can offer both Kinetico and electric designs, we have created this comparison to help our customers. You can see that the Kinetico is going to save at least 50% on salt and water, and 100% on electricity. These numbers were explained earlier, and they result from Kinetico's design and its use of the most efficient cleaning cycle available. The repair factor is higher on the electric units because of micro switches, drive motors, timer assemblies, pistons, and seal kits. As most people realize, water and electricity do not mix. Finally, we can see the added cost of the more economical design. Like most things in life, you can pay now or you can pay later. The Kinetico product carries a 10-year warranty, but they have been known to last 20 years or more. In fact, we pulled one out the other day that was 38 years old. While that one lasted 38 years, we would recommend a life expectancy of 20 years for this product. Wouldn't it be great to get 20 years out of all your appliances? Do you see the value in a product that is expected to last 20 years, or would you prefer something that you will need to repair or replace in three to five years?

Before I leave, I understand your time is valuable, and I will spend as much time with you as you need to make the decision that is right for you, whether that takes a day, week, month, or year. Of course, the value of time can also be equated to cost, so if we can get you on the schedule today, I can pass that savings on to you. This special offer is our bonus savings plan and would save you an additional 10% off the package. With this additional discount, your price will be $60 per month. How does your schedule look for an installation this week?
